Biography

From their ongoing conversation spanning religion, spirituality and the nature of consciousness comes the Genre-Fluid music of Lora Nigro and Kevin Rutkowski. The cryptic yet sensual quality elucidated by Nigro's songs "refuses to be pigeon-holed" by the industry's propensity for narrow categorization.

"I would describe us as something like 'New Con,' relates Rutkowski, a classically trained guitarist with progressive rock roots and arranger. "Grounded in science but still expressing a wonderment for the universe while simply spinning on a rock. To me the physicality of the material realm is in itself spiritual and religion can be one possible portal to a deeper reality."

The duo serendipitously met on "Poet Monday" in their hometown of Milwaukee and spawned the ensemble, Sometimes Y. Performing throughout the Midwest, the band recorded two LP’s with Emmy award winning composer, Peter Buffett and Grammy recipient, Bob Ludwig, garnering two WAMI awards (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) for best artist. As 11th Story, they continue to produce new material alongside their documentary projects and enjoy panoramic sunsets with Pan, the Russian Blue from the 11th floor of their downtown high-rise.

This (Turnaround) is like death cab for cutie mixed with some Regina Spektor... with your own flair of course. This is really goood! ❤. —Kanata, Canada

Biography

Music is what brought lyricist, Lora Nigro and guitarist, Kevin Rutkowski together. They serendipitously met at a local poetry reading at the Wisconsin Room in Milwaukee. In the mid 90's, they married and formed the ensemble, Sometimes Y (MKE) recording two LP’s produced with Emmy award winning composer, Peter Buffett. Lushly orchestrated, their debut CD, "I Am" was mastered by numerous Grammy recipient, Bob Ludwig. Sometimes Y performed throughout the midwest and snatched two WAMI awards (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) for best artist.

The duo presently turn melodies into film scores for their documentary projects and YouTube channel videos alongside composing, recording and releasing a batch of alt. pop tunes under the name 11th Story. Reunited with their original producer, Vincent Gaudes, 11th Story's refreshed musical style blends organic and electronic sounds with transformative lyrics and heart expanding frequencies. They enjoy sunsets with Pan, their Russian Blue from the 11th floor of their downtown high-rise. New singles now streaming!
